The Wrong Kaylee
“River, why are you staring at me?” Simon asked his little sister as he sorted through the lab on Serenity. River blinked and cocked her head to the side.
“Why don’t you tell Kaylee?”
“Why don’t I tell Kaylee what?” Simon asked, his heart thudding a different pattern. Did River…but of course that was an impossibility. She wasn’t psychic…or Mal was right. But that was ludicrous.
“Listen you Jurassic twit.” River said in a voice that sounded like she was imitating something. Simon stared. “Kaylee deserves someone who will love her, someone who’ll hold her in his arms, who’ll run his fingers through her hair, look deeply in her eyes and make her feel like a real WOMAN!” and she leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.
“River, what-?”
River just giggled, smiled and ran off to do only River knows what.
